Privacy Policy
01Who we are
Cannonaze ("the App") is a free-to-play casual game developed by Saimcan Sesigur ("we", "us", "the Developer"). This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights over that data. By using the App you agree to this policy.
02Data we collect directly
We store the following data on a Firebase Realtime Database server (operated by Google Ireland Limited) to power the in-app leaderboard and the optional "beaten alerts" push notification:
| Data | Purpose | Linked to you? |
|---|---|---|
| Player ID (auto-generated UUIDv4-shaped token, not tied to your Apple ID, Google account, email, or any personal identifier) | Uniquely identifying your score entry so you can update your own name and score | Pseudonymously — we cannot identify you by this ID alone |
| Display name (voluntary — chosen by you in Settings) | Shown next to your score on public leaderboards | Only to the extent you choose a recognisable name |
| Score (integer) | Ranking on Daily, Monthly, and All-Time leaderboards | Via the Player ID above |
| Push notification token (FCM token, optional) | Sending you "your score was beaten" alerts when another player passes you on the leaderboard | Via the Player ID above; collected only if "Beaten Alerts" is enabled in Settings |
| Notification preference flag (push_optin, boolean) | Server-side gate for whether to send you any push at all | Via the Player ID above |
All-time scores are retained indefinitely for ranking. Daily scores are retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted. Monthly scores are retained for the rolling 12-month window. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 6).
03Data collected locally on your device
The following data is stored only in the App's local storage on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- High score (lifetime personal best)
- Interstitial ad cadence counters (death count, last ad timestamp)
- Remove Ads purchase flag (if you bought the in-app purchase)
- Ad tracking consent status (whether you have been shown the consent prompt)
- Reminder preference (whether the 24-hour local re-engagement notification is enabled)
This data is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its local storage.
04Data collected by third-party partners
4.1 Google AdMob (advertising)
The App uses Google AdMob to display interstitial ads and support a free-to-play business model. If you grant tracking permission (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or via your device's ad personalisation settings on Android), AdMob may collect:
- Device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android)
- Device information (model, OS version, language, country, network type)
- Coarse location derived from IP address (country / region only)
- Advertising data (which ads were shown, clicked, or dismissed)
- Product interaction data (frequency of app opens for ad cadence)
If you deny tracking permission, AdMob will serve non-personalised ads and will not collect the identifiers above for tracking purposes.
AdMob's own privacy policy governs its use of this data:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
4.2 Google UMP (consent management)
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect and store ad-tracking consent. UMP stores your consent choice in encoded form on your device and on Google's servers. You can change your consent at any time via Settings → Privacy Options.
4.3 Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
If you enable "Beaten Alerts" in Settings, the App registers a Firebase Cloud Messaging token with Google's servers. We use this token to send you a notification only when another player passes your score on the leaderboard. Token storage and message delivery are handled by Google.
4.4 App stores (in-app purchases)
If you purchase the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by the platform store (Apple App Store on iOS, Google Play Store on Android). We never see or store your payment details. We only receive an anonymous entitlement confirmation used to disable ads on your device.
05What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera input, health data, financial data, browsing history outside the App, or any other personally identifying information.
06Your rights
6.1 GDPR (European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data (the "right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time — open the App and tap Settings → Privacy Options to re-display the consent form. You can also revoke ad tracking on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Cannonaze, or on Android via Settings → Google → Ads.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise these rights, contact us at the address in Section 10.
6.2 CCPA (California residents)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information.
We do not sell personal information. However, sharing device identifiers with AdMob for personalised advertising may be considered "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out by denying the tracking prompt on iOS, or by disabling ad personalisation in your Android device settings.
07Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
08Security
Leaderboard data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Firebase servers with access controlled by Firebase Security Rules. No system is 100% secure, but we follow industry-standard practices to protect your data.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced via an in-App notification.
