1. Who we are
BURNLANE ("the App") is a free-to-play pixel-art arcade game developed by Saimcan Sesigur ("we", "us", "the Developer"). This policy covers both the App and the marketing website at burnlane.net. It explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights over that data. By using the App or website you agree to this policy.
2. Data we collect directly
We do not operate any server for this game. We do not store your data on any infrastructure we control. Everything below is either stored locally on your device or collected by the third parties described in Section 4.
3. Data stored locally on your device
The following data is stored only in the App's local storage and is never transmitted to us:
- Personal best distance (integer)
- Audio on/off preference
- Haptics on/off preference (if available on your device)
- Interstitial ad cadence counters (death count, last ad timestamp)
- Remove Ads purchase flag (if you bought the IAP)
- Ad tracking consent status (whether you have been shown the tracking prompt)
This data is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its local storage.
4. Data collected by third-party partners
4.1 Google AdMob (advertising)
The App uses Google AdMob to display interstitial ads between runs — never during a run. These ads fund the free-to-play business model. If you grant tracking permission (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or via your device's ad personalisation settings on Android), AdMob may collect the following to serve personalised advertising:
- Device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android)
- Device information (model, OS version, language, country, network type)
- Advertising data (which ads were shown, clicked, or dismissed)
If you deny tracking permission, AdMob will serve non-personalised ads and will not collect the identifiers above for tracking purposes.
AdMob's own privacy policy governs its use of this data:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
4.2 App stores (in-app purchases)
If you purchase the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by the platform store (Apple App Store on iOS, Google Play Store on Android). We never see or store your payment details. We only receive an anonymous entitlement confirmation used to disable ads on your device.
4.3 Google Analytics (website only)
The marketing website at burnlane.net uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns (page views, referrers, time on page, music-player engagement, CTA clicks). Google Analytics may set first-party cookies and collect:
- Device and browser information (user-agent, screen size, operating system)
- Approximate location (country / region, derived from IP; full IP is not stored by us)
- Page and interaction data (which pages you visit, which buttons you click, which tracks you play)
We have IP anonymisation enabled by default in GA4. We do not use this data for advertising, we do not share it with third parties beyond Google, and we do not attempt to re-identify website visitors. Data is retained for 14 months.
To opt out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it, install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block googletagmanager.com in your browser or with a content blocker.
Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Note: Google Analytics applies only to the website. It is not embedded in the App itself.
5. What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, precise location, contacts, photos, health data, financial data, browsing history outside the App, or any other personally identifying information.
6. Your rights
6.1 GDPR (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data (the "right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — on iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → BURNLANE; on Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or toggle off ad personalisation
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise these rights, contact us at the address in Section 10.
6.2 CCPA (California residents)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. However, sharing device identifiers with AdMob for personalised advertising may be considered "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out by denying the tracking prompt on iOS, or by disabling ad personalisation in your Android device settings.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Because we do not operate any server-side storage for this game, there is no transmission or storage of user data on our infrastructure to secure. Local preferences live in the App's sandboxed local storage managed by the operating system. Ad-related data transmission is handled by Google AdMob under their own security practices.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced via an in-App notification.
